A few meters before you arrive in the main square of Milies, you will find the famous “Salkimi Taverna”. With its impressive and unique wooden exterior and the tempting aromas from the kitchen, the "Salkimi Taverna" invites you on a journey to sample the traditional tastes of the old days with the unique cuisine of Mrs Mygdalio.
The name of our taverna "Salkimi" is taken from the name of the plant that beautifully decorates the taverna. We are confident you will not have seen another taverna as unique as our one. The delicious cuisine that you will find here at "Salkimi" is based on a wide selection of traditional tastes. Some dishes we regularly prepare include fillo pies made with greens from the mountain, "Hounkiar Beyendi", which is veal served with mashed aubergine and three different cheeses cooked the traditional way in a ceramic pot. Other unique dishes include "Salkimi" which is veal served with aubergines and courgettes with a brandy and bechamel sauce, and "Koupaki" which is potatoes and mushrooms served with creme fresh and and three different types of cheese. The selection of home made cuisine you will find available will intrigue your taste buds and introduce you to a completely new and unique spectrum of tastes and dishes.

We have a very nice selection of local wines and tsipouro to compliment your meals here at the "Salkimi Taverna", and help you to truly experience your magical Greek moments. Many of the meals and dishes that you will find available here at our tavernas are based on recipes from Smyrni (Ismir) in Mikro Asia on the South Turkish coast on the Aegean sea, during the old years when there was a large Greek colony. During the summer season, the "Salkimi Taverna" is transformed into a traditional Pelion balcony, offering you coolness and beautiful and inspiring views towards the village and the surrounding nature.
